Eagles Make 2 Roster Moves Ahead of Packers Game

Deon Cain and Andre Chachere to the Practice Squad

The Philadelphia Eagles have made two roster moves ahead of their Week 12 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Running back Deon Cain and cornerback Andre Chachere have been added to the practice squad.

Cain's Return

Cain, 26, originally joined the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2018 out of Clemson. He spent the 2020 season on the Eagles’ practice squad and was promoted to the active roster in 2021. Cain rushed for 114 yards and one touchdown in 11 games with the Eagles.

Cain was waived by the Eagles at the end of the 2021 season and signed a futures contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers in January 2022. He was waived by the Steelers in August and has spent the 2022 season as a free agent until signing with the Eagles practice squad.

Chachere's Experience

Chachere, 25, is a former undrafted free agent out of San Jose State who has spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants. He has appeared in 15 NFL games, recording seven tackles and one fumble recovery.

Chachere was signed by the Eagles in August 2022 and was waived at the end of training camp. He was re-signed to the practice squad on September 21, 2022, and was elevated to the active roster for the Eagles' Week 10 game against the Washington Commanders.

Looking Ahead

The Eagles are currently 9-1 and have a chance to clinch a playoff berth with a win over the Packers. The addition of Cain and Chachere provides the Eagles with some added depth at the running back and cornerback positions.

Cain will likely serve as a backup to Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell, while Chachere could provide depth behind Darius Slay, James Bradberry, and Avonte Maddox.

The Eagles will host the Packers at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, November 27th at 1:00 PM EST.
