Brewers Fall 6-3 to D-Backs

Arizona Wins Third Straight

The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 6-3 on Friday night at American Family Field. The win was Arizona's third straight and Milwaukee's third straight loss.

Zac Gallen started for the Diamondbacks and allowed three runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out six batters and walked two.

The Brewers took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a solo home run by Willy Adames. The Diamondbacks tied the game in the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Jake McCarthy.

Arizona took a 3-1 lead in the third inning on a two-run homer by Christian Walker. The Brewers cut the lead to 3-2 in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Hunter Renfroe.

The Diamondbacks extended their lead to 5-2 in the fifth inning on a two-run homer by Carson Kelly. The Brewers added a run in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Keston Hiura.

Mark Melancon pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 13th save of the season.

The Diamondbacks improved to 23-30 with the win, while the Brewers fell to 26-27.

Brewers facing more injuries

The Milwaukee Brewers are facing more injuries, as reliever Jandel Gustave was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement.

Gustave, 26, has appeared in 12 games out of the bullpen for the Brewers this season, posting a 3.38 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 13 1/3 innings pitched.

The right-hander joins several other Brewers pitchers on the injured list, including Brandon Woodruff, Freddy Peralta, and Corbin Burnes.

D-Backs looking to keep pace

The Arizona Diamondbacks are looking to keep pace in the NL West, as they currently sit 4.5 games behind the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Diamondbacks have won three straight games and six of their last nine.

Arizona will face the Brewers again on Saturday night at American Family Field.
