New London Tech Disc Golf Course to host event in 2024
Final preparations are underway in Bedford County for the 2024 Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) Pro World Championships, set to take place from August 21-25. The event will mark the first time the PDGA Pro World Championships have been held in Virginia.
The New London Tech Disc Golf Course, which opened in April 2021 at the New London Business and Technology Center park, will host the main competition. The course was designed by world-renowned disc golf course designer John Houck and features 18 holes of challenging terrain.
Bedford County is capitalizing on the sport's growing popularity and local tourism campaign Destination Bedford to attract visitors to the event. A $19,500 grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation will help fund the event.
